Before he was self-proclaimed "King of the World", James Cameron wrote and directed some really good films. (The Terminator and The Abyss are among my favorites.)
In 1986, he raised the action, sci-fi and horror genres to new levels with the first sequel to Ridley Scott's Alien.
Sigourney Weaver returns as Ellen Ripley and is one hell-of-a-heroine (again!). With a solid script by Cameron and a varied assortment of memorable but less-than-formidable supporting characters, the second Alien is every bit as good as the first. About the only thing I can find fault with is the unoriginal title.
Alright, I am not crazy about Paul Reiser either.
