Great ghosts! Take the countless Amityville Horror and House movies, the many Poltergeist sequels and the recent Haunting and House On Haunted Hill movies and stack them up. You still wouldn't have the singular effect of this uncommonly good supernatural tale.

The late George C. Scott is a composer who loses his wife and daughter in a freak accident and who then makes the mistake of taking up residence in a haunted house.

The world lost one of its great actors when Scott passed away in September 1999. He appeared in a number of great films including Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), Patton (1970) and Taps (1981). When he wasn't playing Generals, Mr. Scott appeared in a handful of horror films including the barely watchable Firestarter (1984) and The Exorcist III (1990).

Here, you get wonderful performances by Scott and co-star Trish Van Devere and a frighteningly riveting ghost story.
