Stephen King and George A. Romero scripted three more tales of terror for Creepshow 2 (two fewer than the first), but only one of them are worth a second showing. "The Raft" features some fun-loving teens (played by unknowns then and now) and a grotesque blob-of-a-monster in a lake. There are at least a few scenes in this one that will have you thinking twice about leaving the shore.

Sadly, the opener "Old Chief Wood'nhead" with George Kennedy and "The Hitchhiker" (the last of the live-action tales) are average at best. I nearly forgot about the animated "Venus Flytrap" feature which concludes this Creepshow. For that matter, the same can be said for much of the rest of this underwhelming film.

Makeup master Tom Savini did the ghoulish effects in both of the Creepshow films and appears as "The Creep" in C2.

King appears (surprise!) as a truck driver in "The Hitchhiker".
