Dawn of the Dead is one of my all-time favorite films!

It contains one of the best movie lines ever: "When there's no more room in Hell, the Dead will walk the Earth."

Yes, it is quite gory. All the while, George Romero succeeds in getting the viewer to become one of his main characters - one of the last "living" people on Earth.

As I recall the first time I saw Dawn of the Dead (with a lady who would later become my wife), we sat in a dark theater and held onto each other as the whole gruesome story played out. (Ahhh, movie memories...)

The film's high chill factor is what keeps me coming back even after many subsequent viewings.

Earlier this year, Anchor Bay Entertainment released a Director's Cut / Anniversary Edition video and DVD. It is digitally mastered and approximately 13 minutes longer than previous video versions (clocking in at 2:19). Also included are liner notes by the director. It is a dream come true for this fan of both Mr. Romero and his unforgettable film.
