There is a lot to like about this horror show. First and goremost, there is the maniacal and supernatural killer Freddy Krueger played with much gusto by Robert Englund. Secondly, his weapon of choice - a glove with knives at the fingertips.
Aside from Freddy and his props, there's impressive special effects, all the suspense of a dozen other films of its kind combined, and slick direction from Wes Craven, who also wrote the screenplay.
It is also all so illogical. But what the hell, it is just a Nightmare.
