A deranged serial killer has a thing about the Seven deadly sins. New York City coppers Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman team up to find the intellectual psychopath whose crimes get more and more gruesome, not to mention closer to home. (I really did not want to mention that.)

Veteran makeup man Rob Bottin was a fine choice for creating some of the film's sickeningly horrible moments. After all, it was Bottin's special effects work on The Howling, the 1982 remake of The Thing, and Total Recall that made them into three of the more popular films of the horror / sci-fi genre (certainly, all are favorites of mine).

The acting in Seven is great, the action intense and impacting. Unfortunately and in spite of David Fincher's supurb direction, I found myself arriving at the climax a scene or two too soon.
