House of Wax  (1953)

Cast: Vincent Price, Frank Lovejoy, Phyllis Kirk, Carolyn Jones, Charles Bronson
Director: Andre De Toth
U.S. Distribution: Warner Bros.
U.S. Release Date: 4/10/53
Running Time: 1:28
MPAA Rating: Not rated (merits "PG" for violent content)

After years of playing it straight, Vincent Price began his distinguished horror film career as a genius wax sculptor. When fire destroys his museum (and life's work), he begins anew pledging to give the people - the "morbidly curious" - what they want. Soon, visitors begin to realize that his sculptures are a little too life-like.

This film is actually a remake of 1932's Mystery of the Wax Museum. Long considered one of the best 3-D films ever made, House of Wax remains an excellent shocker today. Look for Carolyn Jones (TV's original Morticia Addams) who appears early as a bubbly blonde.
